Experience Ayra Starr's Cinematic Visuals For "DITR"

A poignant portrayal of the perils of peer pressure.

Originally featured on Ayra Starr's eponymous debut EP back in January, "DITR" is one of the more haunting tracks on the project. Earlier this month, Starr was invited to perform for the Nigerian Students Association at UC Berkley. "DITR" (short for "Diamond In The Rough") was among the songs chosen for her ethereal set, as if to whet our appetites for what she had in store. Now, the young Afropop singer has shared a new video for the poignant R&B cut.

The visuals tell a moving story of the perils of peer pressure, documenting the coming-of-age of a young girl and boy, who unfortunately fall prey to "wrong exposure". Regardless of this, Starr wants their parents to still love them as she sings: “Your child is changing/She started drinking/she’s doing drugs now to end these feelings…She’s still your baby/nothing has changed,/she’s only aging.”
