Get Ready For Ladipoe's New EP, 'Providence'
Out at midnight!

It has been a milestone year for the self-appointed leader of the revival, Ladipoe. He started the year off right with a Headies Award for “Know You” his hit collaboration with Simi - before delivering heavy bars as only he can on the short but powerful “Rap Messiah.” However, things really got into gear with the release of “Feeling” featuring Buju in May. The song gathered millions of streams across major streaming services, topped charts around the country for weeks and earned both artists their first No 1 placements. In true Ladipoe fashion, he refused to capitalize on the hype - choosing instead to take time off from solo releases and committing to features, landing spots on projects by Johnny Drille, Veeiye and ShowDemCamp. The accolades didn’t stop there though, as the rapper also got a BET nomination for “Best International Flow”, marking his first nomination on foreign shores.
The clamour by fans for new “Poe” music has been ringing all year, and finally, their earnest pleas have been answered. Kicking things off with “Running” featuring Fireboy DML, Ladipoe announced the impending release of an EP titled Providence, his second body of work after 2018’s Talk About Poe. With the lead single gaining steam on charts and streaming services, the Mavins rapper announced the tracklist, revealing six songs with features from label mate Rema and Ghanian sensation Amaarae.
Ladipoe has mastered the art of collaborating with traditional singers, learning to weave his verses and flow around their choruses, and from the looks of it, the Providence EP will include more tracks with this formula. Nevertheless, trying to predict Ladipoe is a difficult job as his creative mind is always full of surprises. One thing is sure though, whatever he has in store for us, his track record gives us hope that it’ll be a solid body of work. And frankly, we can’t wait.
Providence is out on November 4, 2021.
