“Deja vu” - Dunnie

2021 has been an interesting year for Dunnie. The singer and producer extraordinaire has grown in leaps and bounds while perfecting her sound along the way. The culmination of all the hard work is her latest body of work titled Amazon the EP slated for release on November 12. To whet appetites, she has released “Deja Vu”, produced by Dunnie and Brainz, a bouncy track bound to get you moving.

“Afro Jigga” - Ladipoe x Rema

Ladipoe’s year has been nothing short of amazing, with a series of bangers and guest appearances leading up to the release of his second studio tape, Providence. The project details his growth and in usual Ladipoe manner, examines societal issues with deep, introspective bars. A standout track is “Afro Jigga” featuring label mate Rema. Although the song has a slow-paced tempo, the groove is carried by the charisma of both rappers, elevating the sound to another level.

“m.i.a” - Tochi Bedford x Odunsi (The Engine) x $hadow

Rapper and producer Tochi Bedford has released his sophomore project After Eternity, the follow up to 2020’s Eternal Mob, and it’s everything we expected it to be. In his usual style, the project sees his intricate production ridden by smooth vocals and carefully chosen collaborators. On “m.i.a” with Odunsi (The Engine) and $hadow, the trio flow over a grainy beat, exchanging verses about their lives as artists with a tendency to be reclusive while working on music.

“Woogy” - SGaWD

Rapper SGaWD has been super clear about her mission to take over the rap scene and her debut EP Savage Bitch Juice is her first major step to achieving this. On “Woogy”, she switches from her typical exuberant flow to a paced beat on which she discusses a romantic partner as well as her general badasssery.

”Cover” - Sess x PsychoYP

Producer Sess is known chiefly for his work behind the boards on some of the country’s biggest hits, but he’s a solid solo artist in his own right and his latest offering, a 7-song EP titled Spotlight is solid proof of this. On “Cover” with Abuja rapper PsychoYP, he sings about wanting to take care of a love interest and YP backs him up with romantic bars.

“Stand Firm” - Jay Bahd x Skyface SDW

Kumasi rapper Jay Bahd is still high off the positive reception to his debut album RETURN OF OKOMFO ANKOYE. Continuing in the same vein, he’s released “Stand Firm” with fellow Ghanian rapper Skyface SDW who also featured alongside him on his hit single “Y3 Y3 DOM.” Over strong instrumentals, the pair rap about staying true to your path and weathering the storms of life.
