King Promise dazzles at TRACE Live.
On Thursday the 7th of April, 2022, the latest edition of TRACE’s live showcase series, TRACE Live took place at Terra Kulture. Headlined by one of Ghana’s biggest exports in King Promise, the showcase featured a surprise performance from none other than Nigeria’s Mr Eazi. Appearing alongside his recently engaged fiancee, the venture capitalist and music artiste performed the pair’s duets, Jealous and Dabebi to the overzealous crowd.
King Promise’s set was backed by Nigerian band, The Ultimate Sound as the Ghanaian R&B crooner led the audience through a medley of some of his greatest hits. From Abena to Bra to Sisa, there were records to sate some of the oldest members of his audience. Eventually transitioning to some of his more recent records such as Ring My Line, Chop Life and crowd favourite Slow Down.
Organized by Trace as a part of the live showcase series and sponsored by Lord’s Gin and Pepsi, the event marks King Promise’s Nigerian performance debut in spectacular fashion. Showing his love and support for most things Nigerian, his bespoke Ashluxe leather jumpsuit and attempts at speaking our pidgin variation were greatly appreciated by the audience. King Promise’s European tour leg is set to kick off later this month with his Promised Land tour sure to do another lap in Africa later in the year.
