Bounce: The 50 Best African Albums of 2021

As "Essence" took the world by storm, Wizkid announced a deluxe version of his latest album, adding four excellent songs with features from the in-form Buju and global star Justin Bieber. A stellar promotion campaign and chart success in various countries led to two Grammy nominations, Wizkid's first as a solo artist. Along the way, he sold out the famed 02 arena three nights in a row and firmly placed Afrobeats on the world map with his smooth, suave style.

The most difficult thing about experiencing greatness is finding the words to adequately describe it. He’s gone ahead to do the seemingly impossible which helps him claim our top spot with the deluxe version of what is surely his magnum opus. - ON
