Kemi Adetiba's "King Of Boys" Returns As 7-Part Netflix Original Series

Laburu is coming!

The highly-anticipated sequel to the sixth highest-grossing Nigerian movie of all time, King Of Boys, is set to return on Netflix on the 27th of August, three years after the original. The new release titled King of Boys: The Return Of The King will be a 7-part limited series, making it the very first Nigerian original series on Netflix. It will join the ever-expanding list of brilliant Nigerian movies constantly pushing the industry’s standards and serve as a stepping stone for other original Nigerian series to get deserved recognition and find a place on the popular streaming service.

The crime blockbuster is expected to see the return of Reminisce, Sola Sobowale, Adesua Etomi, Illbliss, Toni Tones and many more. It’s also expected to feature new additions like the award-winning Nse Ikpe-Etim, Richard Mofee-Damijo (RMD), Charly Boy, Deyemi Okanlawon and Efa Iwara.

Speaking on this, director Kemi Adetiba says: “When I decided to tell King Of Boys story, I never imagined it would take on a life of its own in the way it has. It’s been such an exciting ride from its introduction in 2018 to the Nigerian audience, and their reception was so incredible that the fans have been clamouring for more. I’m so honoured that today, I get to share the world of Eniola Salami and Kings of Boys 2: The Return of the King to a global audience, but this time with the massive backing of Netflix. Continuing the King of boys journey with Netflix is a big deal for me….”
